Drumshanbo Community Council CLG own and manage the Food Hub in Drumshanbo. The Food Hub is not only the home of a number of food enterprises in the County but it is hub for Taste Leitrim Experiences, showcasing local producers and celebrating the wide range of unique culinary businesses in the county. This project allowed for an investment in hard/soft landscaping, electrical/lighting and street furniture at the entrance to The Food Hub. This has further developed Leitrim and the Food Hub as a flagship for food producers in that it has allowed the food sector in the county become part of the overall Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands proposition. It is innovative in that it is bringing the Food Hub to the wider public by creating a welcoming, aesthetically pleasing first impression for all visitors/tourists and users of the Food Hub, not only the businesses and employees located here. With the opening of the new state of the art Shed Distillery Experience in September 2020, this project has improved the overall appearance of the Food Hub buildings and site into a food tourism destination to build on Drumshanbo's emergence as a key 'product' within Ireland's Hidden Heartlands. Drumshanbo is now positioned and appropriately presented as a hotspot for food and drink tourism in the Hidden Heartlands region
