This project is an agricultural diversification project which involved the construction of a purpose built grooming salon to facilitate a dog grooming business on a working farm. The business also incorporates canine nutrition and advice to dog owners. The salon is a storey and a half building with a reception area which is stocked with products for retail as well as a bathing area, grooming station where dogs will be dried and clipped and a holding area where dogs can relax after being groomed. It also has a consultation area where dogs can be weighed and assessed. Having this workspace at home will make it easier for the family to continue working on the farm especially during busy times such as lambing. The service will be open both evenings and weekends to cater for dog owners who work during the day.
