We had a fantastic Launch Event for our new board game Letter Lingo. Thank you to all the community groups and organisations from Carrick, Ballinamore, Dromahair, Drumshanbo and Carrigallen who joined us at the Irish Wheelchair Association Centre in Carrick-on-Shannon. Also a massive thank you to Star Grazing Ireland for their fantastic grazing table and boxes.
And a huge thank you to Carol Coleman from RTÉ who joined the event to interview the creators and gamers on how the game can serve as a resource for anyone eager to enhance their English language skills, while also fostering social connections among people from different communities.
Developed through Leitrim Development Company’s Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP), Letter Lingo designed to help learners of all ages and abilities improve their English language skills in a fun and engaging way.
The game is suitable for individuals of all levels—from beginners to advanced learners—making it an excellent tool for both non-native and native English speakers. The game is particularly valuable for voluntary groups, schools, and organizations engaging with new arrivals to the community, providing a creative and social atmosphere for English language improvement. In addition, it offers a fun way for native speakers to enhance their vocabulary, concentration, and social skills.
Any enquiries about Letter Lingo can be made to Caillin Reynolds, Community Development Worker at Leitrim Development Company, at caillin@ldco.ie
