Recreation & Sports Related Amenity Funding for projects seeking over €50,000 funding

LEADER Funding is available for the development of Community Recreation and Sport Related Amenities in County Leitrim (Action 7.1.3 of the Local Development Strategy page 65). Leitrim Development Company is currently accepting expressions of interest for capital projects from across the County. Please note this is a time limited call and you must submit an Expression of Interest in order for your project to be considered for funding. Once the deadline date lapses, there will be no funding available for projects seeking over €50,000 for Community Recreation and Sports Related Amenities

Primary Target Group(s): Community Groups, Sporting Organisations and Societies
Criteria:
· Projects that received capital funding in the previous LEADER Programme are not eligible to apply.
· Projects that received Analysis and Development funding under the previous programme may apply.
· The call welcomes all those that have not received LEADER Funding previously
· Projects seeking €50,000 funding or more can apply to this call.
· Recreation or sporting facility on the grounds of a sporting organisation e.g. GAA, soccer, golf, tennis or any sporting club, if awarded funding must develop and implement an Inclusion Strategy to ensure use of the facility by the entire community.
Closing Date: Completed Expressions of Interest must be submitted to Leitrim Development Company by 5.00pm Friday 14th June 2024 by email: leader@ldco.ie or post to: LEADER Team, Leitrim Development Company, Church Street, Drumshanbo, Co. Leitrim.

This is a time limited call and will be competitive.
The submission of a successful Expression of Interest does not guarantee receiving grant funding.

Examples of projects that may be funded under this call include but is not limited to;
· Development of land and water based public recreational amenities.
· Community recreational amenities for walking, cycling, angling, boating, rowing, kayaking, canoeing and hillwalking.
· Upgrading and improvement to sports/recreation facilities

All recreation and sporting amenities in this call, must demonstrate a need for the facility/project, be open to all and accessible for the wider community. Intergenerational projects and projects that benefit the wider community are welcomed.
Please note that smaller scale project seeking funding of less than €50,000 can apply outside of this call at any time, until such time as the funding has been allocated.

How to Apply?
The submission of an Expression of Interest (EOI) Form is the first step in applying for LEADER Funding. Please ensure that you read the details set out above. Once you submit your fully complete Expression of Interest Form before the deadline date, Leitrim Development Company will review all EOIs and contact you to outline if your proposed project is eligible for funding and meets the criteria of this call or not and if you can proceed to full Application.
