Funding of up to 75% available under the Rural Development LEADER Transitional Programme

Are you thinking of setting up a food business? Are you a farmer thinking of processing your own food? Is your existing food business interested in funding for capital items such as machinery or equipment to increase your production quality? Are you interested in marketing your food business? Does your food business require improved marketing, product quality or business skills through collaborative training?

If so, funding is available for artisan, micro and small food producers in County Leitrim. Up to 75% funding is available under the Rural Development LEADER Transitional Programme which commences on 1st April 2021.

Costs that are eligible for funding include;
-Construction or improvement of property
-Purchase of new machinery and equipment
-Investments in computer software and the acquisition of patents, licences, copyrights or trademarks

Projects must be in the areas of (1) market development, (2) competitiveness or (3) innovation.

Applicants must be an artisan, micro or small food producer and registered as a food producer with the relevant competent authority.
Minimum funding amount is €5,000 up to a maximum of €200,000.
