Leitrim Local Community Development Committee is delighted to announce the launch of a call for applications for Water Conservation Projects in Communities and Businesses across County Leitrim. Funding for this scheme has been made available through the Rural Development Programme, financed by the Irish Government under the Rural Development Programme Ireland 2014-2020 (LEADER) and by EAFRD: Europe investing in Rural Areas.

Types of projects that can be funded include but are not limited to; Water Conservation Management Plans, Audits/surveys of wildlife, Invasive species control of aquatic or riparian zones, outdoor classroom at local waterside amenity areas, signage (interpretative, interactive & directional, etc.), infrastructure at lakeside/riverside amenities (angling, picnic areas, walking trails, bird watching,etc.), rare species conservation initiatives on our waters, rainwater harvesting projects, community angling projects, etc.

Community Funding of up to 90% is available for plans/strategies and 75% for capital projects

Business Funding of up to 75% is available for plans/strategies and 50% for capital projects
