Landscaping of the Grotto in Kinlough

Kinlough Tidy Towns received funding for the restoration of the grounds surrounding the grotto at the entrance to the town. The grotto was developed in the 1970s and is surrounded by a quarter of an acre plot of land. Half of this land was maintained but the Tidy Towns Committee wished to renew the garden by carrying out landscaping and upgrading works to the site. This included a new stone entrance wall, planting of shrubbery, installation of park benches, lighting, tarmac paths and a small entrance road.
