Further Education
Leitrim Development Company assists individuals to identify life-long learning opportunities and to re-engage in further education. Leitrim Development Company links with Mayo, Sligo, and Leitrim Education and Training Board to run a number of courses throughout the county. Not all courses delivered are intended to lead to employment but may be a building block in accessing more formal educational opportunities. Priority is given to individuals who left the education system with little or no qualifications and individuals who derived less benefit while participating in the formal education system.
Courses locally are provided by Mayo, Sligo, Leitrim Education and Training Board and include:
- Post Leaving Certificate (PLC) Courses
- Vocational Training Opportunities Scheme (VTOS)
- Back to Education Initiative (BTEI)
- Adult Literacy
- Community Education
Courses are carried out in various training centres and community settings throughout County Leitrim.
