Dromahair Arts and Recreation Centre (DARC) was successful in securing LEADER funding for the development of a multi-use playing area in The Community Park in Dromahair. Under the previous LEADER Programme funding was provided for the development of a playground, outdoor gym, picnic area and walkway on the site. The development of the multiuse playing area was the next phase in the development of The Community Park. This project has resulted in an all weather “AstroTurf” playing surface which is secure with fencing and floodlighting. This new facility provides a much needed playing surface that facilitates a variety of activities and sports. In addition, it provides a facility for local National Schools and has become very popular, proving to be a great asset to the local community, with people of all ages using the facility. It is also attracting sporting clubs, Gaelic, Soccer and Hurling from across the county.
