Inclusive Pathways to Employment Programme
Leitrim Development Company provides personalised progressive pathways in employment support via its Workability programme, to people with disabilities in Leitrim, enabling them to upskill and progress their employment ambitions by providing individual supports under an Inclusive Pathways to Employment Programme.
Objectives of the Programme
- To improve the employment prospects of people with disabilities who are currently distant from the labour market
- To build capacity of employers to recruit, retain and progress people with disabilities within their workforce
- To facilitate new partnerships amongst stakeholders (people with disabilities, disability services, employment services and employers) and new approaches to providing employment supports to people with disabilities
- We provide a one-to-one personalised support to suit your needs and career/work goals
- We can help you to access training, gain new skills, qualifications or experience allowing you to choose how and where you would like to start
- We offer options on Employment Schemes, Volunteer Work and Supported Employment, giving a range of durations from full time and part time availability, to Seasonal, Temporary and Contract roles
- We place an emphasis on the type of work that YOU want to do
- We can assist you in accessing relevant benefits and work supports
- We help with identifying your work goals, writing your CV, cover letters and job applications
- We assist you in individualised job searches
- We can engage with families and support networks on your behalf as directed by you and in your best interest
- We can link with local employers and service providers on your behalf.
- We provide a free service to help you find job-ready candidates to fill your vacancies
- We provide assistance for every step of the employment process, helping ensure a successful placement
- We provide information and advice on how to access work-supports and other incentives
- We provide ongoing support throughout the period of employment.
In summary, The Leitrim Development Company Workability Specialist will help people in an individualised approach to identify their employment goals, guide them in upskilling on their chosen career path, assist in their job search and help them prepare for interviews; offering complete end to end support as they progress into employment. We will also work with Employers to assist job seekers as they make their way through the employment process.
Who can access this service?
The Leitrim Development Company Workability Leitrim Programme is open to anyone over 16 years of age with intellectual, physical, sensory, chronic illness, neurodivergence, mental health difficulty, physiological condition or acquired disabilities living in Co.
