Day Care Services
A community Day Service is a social support for Older People and People living with physical or mental disabilities, to enable them to live independently for as long as possible. It offers a safe space for people to socialise, get their personal needs met and to stimulate their body and mind. These services are funded by the HSE.
Leitrim Development Company run five Community Day Care Services, in Blacklion, Drumkeeran, Carrigallen, Ballinamore and Ballinaglera, offering occupational activities, exercises, a hot meal, assisted showering, laundry service and outings. Referrals for this service are usually made by a Public Health Nurse or other health professional, however self-referrals will be considered.
