Childcare Programme - CE
The Childcare Programme, run by Leitrim Development Company, is designed to help long-term unemployed people to secure training and work experience in the field of childcare.
An integral part of the programme is the provision of QQI training in Childcare. This qualification is essential to find employment in the childcare sector. Learners also work in community childcare facilities, gaining practical experience in the workplace. The programme assists learners to enhance and develop both their technical and personal skills which can then be used in the workplace.
The training for the programme is delivered by the Mayo / Sligo / Leitrim Education and Training Board (ETB) within a Quality Assurance Framework.
To participate in the Childcare Community Employment Programme, you must:
- Register at your local Employment Services Office;
- Meet certain Eligibility Criteria; and
- Contact the Childcare Programme Supervisor in Leitrim Development Company
