-24/7 Family Carers Research Project

This project involved the costs associated with undertaking a research project to find out 'who are the carers in North Leitrim, and what are the barriers to them having a good quality of life?'. 24/7 Family Carers were aware that there was inadequate information on the totality of family carers and their situations in North Leitrim. For the purpose of the research Family Carers are defined as those who home care for a family member, whether in receipt of state carer's benefits and carer's allowance, or not. The research identified the needs and support requirements of Family Carers, specifc to the local area, in the short, medium and long term. To read the full research report click here.
